Question about warpage results

Hi , 

        I am doing one family mould analysis. I fired a run fill+pack+warp without cooling get some 2mm all deflection , but when i fired same analysis with cooling i get huge variation in warpage its about 10-12mm all deflection for re-checking this result i did one more analysis with 3D meshing & i found all deflection around 16mm. In all three analysis material , process setting are same. i wanna ask that why is showing this kind of result.

HI @sumitanam

 

when you are running warpage analysis, it's always better to run with cooling channels and perform cooling analysis

 

this rule definitely need to be applied for deep core parts as you have shown in image

 

if you are performing only Fill + Pack + Warp, this means core and cavity are at uniform temperature

influence of shrinkage and fiber orientation are considered not cooling

 

when performing cooling analysis, difference will be there in core and cavity temperature also within cavity & core.

this will show the influence of cooling on warpage along with shrinkage & orientation

and to answer your query between different mesh types,

 

if the material have multi point thermal data and characterized PVT data, better to go with 3D mesh

Hello @sumitanam,

 

Probably, in the part which has deep core shape, hot spots were reproduced by the cooling analysis and may have caused  large deformation.

Please confirm Mold Temperature results, and compare temperature distribution of each study files.
