Help needed for Time step problem.

Hello Moldflow community,

I use the latest version of Moldflow Synergy 2018. As I want to record the pressure over the fill time and packing time, I loaded a macro with 300 time steps into Moldflow. So far I can see the 300 time steps in the preview of Moldflow (see picture).

However, when I want to get the results after calculating the model, Moldflow does only show me 93 time steps instead of the 300 time steps.

How can I program or change the settings of Moldflow so that 300 time steps are shown?

I would be deeply grateful for any solution or advice to my problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Michael,
In solver parameters, tab Fill+Pack analysis
Solver parameters, Filling parameters... , the default
Maximum %volume to fill per time step is 4%.
I think you should reduce this to lower value, according to wished steps in filling phase.
1% per time step enough? Or even less?
(Increases analysis time and disk space needed.)

Solver parameters, Packing parameters... , the default
Maximum packing time step is 2s.
I think you should reduce this to lower value, according to wished steps in packing phase.
0.1s per time step enough?
(Increases analysis time and disk space needed.)

I have not used such fine time steps as you show, so let me know if this helps.

Berndt

Dear Bernor,

thank you for your helpful advice.

And yes, you can use small time steps but it needs time and capacity on your pc.

Best wishes,

Michael
