CFD launch button in Revit

Hi,

I am trying to set up rules for materials for large model. I want to use the "add/update design" option and keep the name parts unchanged to apply rules.

When I use the CFD add-in button in Revit, I am able to open the model in CFD with all the default family parts name .

But if I choose to export the Revit model manually, with let's say the .sat file option. I loose all parts name after import into CFD.

How can I manually re-create the CFD add-in button without loosing information ? Which export option do you use ?

Hi @Vonkarman,

This is a known issue. Can I ask which language OS and which language versions of CFD and Revit you are using?

Thanks,

David

Hi,

Windows 10, CFD 18.2, Revit 2017.2

To keep the Revit name parts, I use the Launch Active Model add-in button from Revit. If I need to modify something later, I use its Update Design Study option. And it works fine, design is updated and name parts remains, thus rules can be applied.

But the problem is I cannot use SimStudio Tools without having the same part names, because of the export process from RVT to SST to CFD.

Thanks,

So English versions I assume?

So part names are imported correctly from Revit to CFD but you can't see part names in SimStudio Tools after exporting via e.g. .sat. Is that the issue?

All the best,

David

Exactly,

But there is no real issue, I tend to do all the work in Revit.
