Resultant hinge moment

Hi everyone,

I have a CAD model of a wing with moveable aileron. Now I am interested in the hinge moment of the aileron for different angles (at different speeds).

How can I simulate this?

Thanks a lot,

tim

I am sure you can do this.

One way might be to use the Wall Calculator within the results and you could measure the torque, around an axis of your choosing. Would that give you what you need?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

it took me a time to seek out the exact coordinates of my hingeline.

But now it works fine. Thank you for your great answer!

Hi Tim,

You are most welcome and happy new year :)

Thanks for marking those posts as the solution too, this means it is easier for others to find.

Thanks,
