For too long the power of Simulation has been held only by a few experts. Its benefits have been put off until a design has been submitted for validation by The Analysts. But a new day is dawning.
Tools like Inventor and Fusion 360 offer many simulation capabilities for the design engineer to virtually test their designs and validate concepts right in their design environment.
Fusion 360 offers several capabilities as well including static stress, modal frequencies & thermal simulations. Users of Fusion 360 Ultimate have even more tools in their toolbox including buckling, non-linear stress, event simulation, and shape optimization. (Learn more here.)

AU is the world's largest gathering of Autodesk customers. It provides an opportunity to attend classes with product experts and thought leaders, as well as meet with professional peers and members of our Autodesk team. It is also a lot of fun. New This Year: Two Tailored Experiences for Simulation in Design
There are many classes available for users of Inventor or Fusion 360 – covering several aspects of their use. This year we have curated a set of simulation classes for each and bundled them into Tailored Experiences. Tailored Experiences are collections of suggested classes, networking events, and keynotes – the also make it easy to find the classes you need in the course catalog. Here are two that may interest you:
Inventor users have the power of Autodesk Nastran FEA within their design environment through Autodesk Nastran In-CAD. With these sessions, you’ll learn how to use the simulation capability available to you and how it can enhance your design process. Begin with a brief introduction to simulation workflows, continue with classes on simulating complex performance scenarios, and learn about emerging capabilities like generative design. Whether avoiding performance issues or optimizing for key design objectives, there's incredible value to be gained by simulating your design as early as possible. This simulation in Fusion experience will expose you to ways simulation can be used, demonstrate different functionalities, and give you a chance to test drive the tool-set in a hands-on lab.
